Expectations And Hopes For E3 2017

Someday I plan on going on a vacation where I drag my husband to E3… Who am I kidding? He wouldn’t need to be dragged.

I certainly don’t have any super high hopes for this year’s E3, especially after how meh the last couple years have been, but there are a few things I will always keep my fingers crossed.

Obviously I would love to see Bethesda announce Elder Scrolls VI.Β Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening. Traditionally they were dishing out an Elder ScrollsΒ game about four years apart (Oblivion and Skyrim), which means we should’ve been gifted a new one two years ago. Alas! I will always hope to hear about a new one. I know they’re super focused on dishing out new stuff for Elder Scrolls Online (vomit), but a girl can dream, right?

Wellllllllllllll they already broke my heart this year, so how much more damage can they do? πŸ’”

Moving on…

If you can’t guess what I am about to say, then you need to pull your head out of the sand you weird ostrich….

Scorpio. Scorpio. Scorpio.

Not the zodiac sign….

The husband was explaining to me yesterday, how they’re making it where there will be 12 GBs of RAM. Which, if I remember correctly, will leave 9 GBs left for your gaming needs….

Shelby: It will have 12GB of GDDR5 RAM; 9GB of which will be used for games. Any memory unused by the game itself will be used as a cache to improve load times and things like that.

Obviously I will not be the type of person to take advantage of all that horsepower, but I do know someone whose nifty 30th birthday is this year… (ahem). Besides,Β I have had my Xbox One since day one annnnnnnd I still have quite a bit of games I’ve yet to play. I’ve been busy with school, peeps, stop freaking out.

Beyond Scorpio, I don’t have much excitement towards the Microsoft expo. I really haven’t been involved much in the gaming industry for the past two years. I am looking forward to hearing about Halo 6 just cuz I am a big fan.

It won’t happen, I know it won’t happen, but I would LOVE to hear anything about a second Horizon: Zero Dawn. I know it won’t happen, and it won’t, but again, a girl can dream. (I still need to finish the first one, so it don’t know what I am getting all excited about)…

Sadly guys, that’s all I got.

    • Alloy is an incredible protagonist! One of my favorite female characters. I have been meaning to write a post about strong female characters in video games. I love how companies are making a point to create games that have a female protagonist (without being half naked).

  1. BioWare’s Anthem looks really cool, albeit very different from a typical Bioware game.
I too am excited for the Scorpio, although I guess we should call it by its official name now the Xbox One X. Sadly no Halo news this year. 😦

    • It does look cool. Not sure about story or character set-up, but I generally like Bioware games (not partial to this year’s Mass Effect though). It kind of had a Halo, Destiny, I-have-no-idea feel to it, which isn’t bad.

Xbox One X sounds amazing, though it seems like they are lacking in the game releases for it, again. That was my big problem with the Xbox One. We purchased ours on day one and I didn’t play mine well into the following year. I do not plan to purchase an X for myself, I don’t have any needs to, but it will make a great gift 😊

Sooooo disappointed in the no Halo news. I thought their last video was going to be a trailer but noooo. Maybe that means it will be prolonged a bit longer?

      • Oh my goodness so many games. I’m huge Final Fantasy VII fan so the FFVII Remake is high on my list. It’s my favorite game and story of all time, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Squeenix screwed it up hehe.

One of my coworkers just literally gave me an Xbox 360. Like serendipity at its finest. I was looking to get one, because i really want to play Lost Odyssey. I had no idea the Xbox had some sweet exclusive RPGs, and I want in on the game!

I have a backlog over 100 games long, but next up is Final Fantasy Type-0 and Horizon Zero Dawn since I have those in my possession πŸ™‚

      • That’s right! You do have a backlog. I would never wish a messed up game on anyone. It kind of ruins it when something bad comes out. I hope they do a good job! Not for me, I won’t play it, but for fans like you 😊

Holy cow! That was nice of them! Lol Xbox has done well for itself in the past. I think the 360 did very well.

That’s insane! So you have all of those games waiting for you to play or you’ve already played them and need to write about them?

      • Nope! I have a bunch of games I need to play. I don’t own all of them, they’re just games I’d love to get to one day. It never ends, but I figure I should try to play the games I already have, but of course I continue to collect more. It’s like my reading backlog. I have a big pile sitting next to my bookcase, but I just keep buying more!
